Comparison of differences in popular sports between Puerto Rican and U.S. majority cultures

Cambodian Culture American Majority Culture
Sports such as swimming, volleyball and soccer are more familiar to Khmer children. They also play traditional games like heoung (similar to baseball but played with two sticks instead of a ball and bat), tress (like “pick-up sticks”) and baycon (seeds placed in a series of holes). (Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants website, 2004). Participation in sports such as baseball, basketball and football, are familiar to U.S. majority culture children.
